Sixth Annual WALK FOR BALANCE Event
Saturday, September 17, 2016
12 -2:30 pm
This event is FREE to attend.
Details:
The event will begin with a balance-focused warm-up activity led by Move Beyond Limits Feldenkrais Practitioners to get us energized and limber prior to our 1-mile Green Lake walk. During the walk, non-walkers are invited to mingle indoors. After the walk, we will celebrate with food and prizes.
There will be an Information Fair throughout the event.
(Provided by Bastyr Center for Natural Health, North Seattle Community Acupuncture, and Francesca Girabaldi & Associates Massage Therapy)
Event participants will receive a Free BALANCE Wristband!
Win a Free Drawing for event gear and other items!
We will also give Dizzy Spirit Awards for Wearing the Most Blue for Balance, Best Use of Walking Aids, and Most Dizzy Group Spirit, etc.!
Walk:
We plan to walk at a comfortable pace. If you need to rest at any point on our 1-mile walk, there are many benches around the lake. Since we will be walking a loop (starting counter-clockwise around the lake), you are welcome to walk part of the way and then sit and rejoin us on our way back.
Walking aids are necessary for some people and they also help to make an “invisible” illness more visible to others. We encourage you to bring your walking stick, cane, poles, or walker, etc.
Please wear comfortable shoes & in case of rain bring an umbrella.
*Non-walkers are invited to mingle indoors during the walk.*
Show Your Support/Spirit & Wear Blue for Balance!
*A limited number of t-shirts will be available at the event*
